Equities in positive territory

The MSE Total Return Index started off the week positively as it closed 1.697% higher at 9,320.818 points. A total of 11 equities were active, of which eight headed north while the rest closed unchanged. A total turnover of €347,196 was generated across 60 transactions.

Heading the list of gainers with a solid 10%, Mapfre Middlesea plc ended the session at €2.20 as five transactions involving 16,662 shares were executed. Total turnover amounted to €35,062.

In the banking sector, only Bank of Valletta plc was active. A total of 5,908 shares spread across six transactions generated a turnover of €7,446. As a result priceincreased by 1.59%to €1.28.

International Hotel Investments plc closed 5.41% higher at€0.78 as 15,060 shares changed hands across three transactions, generating a total turnover of €11,400.

In the property sector, Malta Properties Company plc closed at €0.60, translating into a rise of 3.45%. A total turnover of €24,530was generated as ninetransactions were executed.

Similarly,  a single transaction of 35,000 shares pushedthe price ofMIDI plcupwards by 1.59%to €0.64, endingthe session vwith a total turnover of €22,400.

Also ending the session in positive territory, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc advanced by 2.94% with a single transaction of only eight shares, to close off at €8.75.

The telecommunications company GO plc increased a further 2.06% to €4.96, generating a turnover of €111,951 with the execution of 14 transactions involving 22,576 shares.

Medserv plc gained 1.74% to €1.17 over five deals of 31,500 shares. Total turnover amounted to €36,231.

Elsewhere, Malta International Airport plc, Tigne Mall plc and BMIT Technologies plc all closed unchanged at €6.60, €0.92 and €0.52 respectively.

In the corporate debt market, 17issues were active,of whichthreeregistered gains while another seven closed in the red. The 4% Eden Finance plc Unsecured € 2027 ended the session 1.25% higher at €104.90.

On the sovereign debt front, out of 17 active issues, 13 headed north while the rest closed in the opposite direction. The 3% MGS 2040 (I) registered the largest gain of 0.74%as it ended the session at €121.89.
