MSE Index declines further

The MSE Total Return Indexfellby 0.027%to 9,332.402 points as nine equities were active, of which four headed north while another three closed in the other direction. A total of 29 transactions were executed generating a total turnover of €409,508.

In the banking sector, Bank of Valleta plc managed to recover its previous losses ar it ended the session 0.37% higher at €1.34. Ten transactions involving 32,992 shares were executed, generating a total turnover of €44,253. Conversely, HSBC Bank Malta plc closed unchanged at €1.65.

Heading the list of gainers, Malta International Airport plc closed 1.53% higher at €6.65 as 24,210 shares were spread across four transactions, generating a total turnover of €161,717.

Similarly, Malta Properties Company plc lost 0.89% as it closed at €0.565. Three transactions involving 1,517 shares were executed, resulting into a turnover of €857.

GO plc also bounced back fromyesterday’s loss as it advanced by 0.41% to €4.84. A total of 8,560 shares changed hands oversix transactions, ending the session with a total turnover of €41,341.

On the other side of the spectrum, with a fall of 2.74%, International Hotel Investments plc closed at €0.71. This was the result of two transactions involving 37,169 shares. Total turnover stood at €26,390.

BMIT Technologies plc wasback in the red as it closed 1.87% lower at €0.525. Two transactions involving 4,000 shares were executed, generating a total turnover of €2,118.

Also ending the session in negative territory, Main Street Complex plc returned to€0.64 as a single transaction of 3,600 shares dragged theprice by 1.54%. Total turnover amounted to €2,304.

Elsewhere, PGplcclosed unchanged at €1.45.

In thecorporate debt market, a total of 18 issues were active, of which nines registered gains while another three closed in the red. The 4.8% Bank of Valletta Plc Sub € 2020 closed 2.79% higher at €103.

In the sovereign debt market, a total of 12 issues were active, of which seven increased while another three declined. The 4.1% MGS 2034 (I) registered the highest gain of 0.47%, as a single transaction increased price to €135.92.
