Market update: Eurozone finance ministers reach agreement on Greece

US stocks closed lower yesterday with the Dow Jones down 0.3% and the S&P 500 falling 0.2%. Shares in Facebook rose 8.1% as analysts suggested that the market was underestimating the company’s potential revenue growth for the next two years. Shares in Knight Capital, the electronic trading and market-making company, gained 13.3% after reports that the company was looking at acquisition offers.

 

In early morning trading both the FTSE 100 and the FTSE Eurofirst 300 are 0.6% higher. Markets rose on news of a deal among eurozone finance ministers on aid for Greece. Royal Bank of Scotland rose 3.6% as Nationwide revealed it was interested in bidding for part of the part-nationalised business.
