HSBC Bank Malta plc – Change in Directorship

HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. (the “Bank”) announced that Mr. Peter William Boyles will step down as Executive Director of the Bank with effect from 5 March 2013, following his recent appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Group Global Private Banking.

Subject to regulatory approval, Mr. Boyles will be succeeded as Executive Director by Mr. Brian Robertson, 8, Canada Square London, E14 5HQ, United Kingdom. Mr. Robertson has been with the HSBC Group for 38 years and has an extensive international experience having worked in the Middle East, Hong Kong, USA, United

Kingdom and Canada. Mr. Robertson is a Group Managing Director of HSBC Holdings plc, a member of the Group Management Board and is Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank plc, with responsibility for the Group’s operations in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.

Mr. Robertson is Chairman of HSBC Life (UK) Limited and a Director of HSBC Bank plc and HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited.

No matter concerning Mr. Robertson requires disclosure under Listing Rule 5.20.5 to 5.20.9.
