Malta International Airport plc – Traffic Results – September 2016

Malta International Airport plc reported movements exceeding half a million passengers for the third consecutive month in September, reaching a total of 531,962 passengers. This represents a 5.8% increase over the same month in 2015. The upturn was improved by the improved connectivity, as seat capacity to Malta increased by 4.2% over the last year.

Seat load factor for the month of September stood at 87.5%. The top traffic drivers remain the UK, Italy, Germany, France and Spain all registering growth varying between 2% to 14%. Poland and Switzerland experienced a remarkable hike in passengers compared to 2015 at 36% and 14% respectively. Year to date passenger movements stood at 3,894,040 a 7.5% increase over last year.
