MSE Index slightly negative
MSE Daily Trading Report, 11 December, 2019
The MSE Equity Total Return Index erase a third of yesterday’s advancement as the index declined by 0.088% to close the session at 9,407.686 points. A total of four equities were active, of which only Malta International Airport plc (MIA) shares registered a price movement. A total turnover of €103,738 was generated across 19 transactions.
MIA shares traded below the €7.00 mark over a slim volume as the equity decline by 0.71% to close the session at €6.95.
In the banking sector, both Bank of Valletta plc (BOV) and HSBC Bank Malta plc (HSBC) traded but remained flat at 1.03 and 1.18 respectively. BOV shares registered the highest turnover of the session as nine transactions generated a total turnover of €72,917. Meanwhile, HSBC recorded five deals of a combined 10,779 shares.
BMIT Technologies plc also closed unchanged during the session at €0.51. A total turnover of €17,059 was generated over four trades.
In the corporate debt market, out of 17 active issues, two drifted lower while another seven gained ground. The 5.75% International Hotel Investments plc Unsecured € 2025 headed the list of gainers as it registered a 3.53% increase, to close at €110.
In the sovereign debt market, 13 issues were active, of which six headed north while five closed in the opposite direction. The best performance was registered by the 2.1% MGS 2039 (I) as it closed 1.19% higher at €128.
