Investor confidence gaining momentum

The MSE Equity Total Return Index extended its gain by a further 2.01% as it reached 8,346.697 points. A total of 13 issues were active, of which five registered gains while another two lost ground. A total turnover of €493,854 was generated across 100 transactions.
Yesterday afternoon, RS2 Software plc announced that one of its subsidiaries has concluded a major processing outsourcing agreement with one of the largest acquirers in the US for a ten-year term with the option to renew. This is a milestone achievement, in line with the RS2’s expansion strategy of extending its operations in the US. The equity registered the highest liquidity with a total turnover of €187,405 and headed the list of gainers with a 14.57% change in price, reaching the €2.28 price level. A total of 87,032 shares were spread across 31 transactions.
BMIT Technologies plc traded 2.13% higher as 40,440 shares were spread over six deals. The equity generated a total turnover of €19,383 as price increased to €0.48. Its subsidiary, GO plc, was active but closed unchanged at €3.58. Eight deals involving 8,207 shares were executed, worth €29,505.
In the banking industry, Bank of Valletta plc advanced by 2.46% as 13 deals involving 90,090 shares were executed. A total turnover of €91,383 was recorded. Meanwhile, a sole deal of 2,000 HSBC Bank Malta plc shares did not alter the bank’s previous closing price of €0.99.
A single transaction of 1,000 International Hotel Investments plc shares pushed the price 6.36% higher to €0.585. Similarly, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc was up by 0.63% to €8.05 as 4,678 shares changed hands over nine deals. Total turnover stood at €37,436.
On the other end of the spectrum, Malta International Airport plc declined by 2.52% as 13,841 shares were spread across 19 transactions. The equity closed at €5.80 and generated a total turnover of €81,114.
Plaza Centres plc headed the list of fallers with an 8.95% fall in price, as it ended the session at €0.865. A total turnover of €2,509 was generated over one deal of 2,900 shares.
Retail conglomerate, PG plc, generated a total turnover of €24,975 as three deals involving 12,384 shares were executed. The equity’s previous closing price of €2.00 was not impacted.
In the property sector, Santumas Shareholdings plc and Malta Properties Company plc were both active but closed unchanged at €1.49 and €0.54, respectively.
MaltaPost plc traded twice over a mix of 7,000 shares, worth €8,190. The equity did not record any change in price as it closed at €1.17.
In the Sovereign Debt market, 11 issues were active, of which gainers and losers tallied to four apiece. The 5.25% MGS 2030 (I) headed the list of gainer as it closed 1.38% higher at €147.00. Conversely, the 2.2% MGS 2035 (I) lost 9.45%, as it ended the session at €115.00.
In the Corporate Debt market, out of 23 active issues, eight headed north while another four closed in the opposite direction. The best performer was the 4% International Hotel Investments plc Unsecured € 2026 as it closed at €99.99, translating into a 5.25% increase. On the other hand, 4.4% Von der Heyden Group Finance plc Unsecured € 2024 traded 1.75% lower, as it reached the €98.25 price level.
In the Prospects MTF market, seven issues were active, of which two declined while the 5% JD Capital plc Unsecured € Bonds 2028 closed 0.1% higher at €98.60.
