HSBC closes in the Green

The MSE Equity Total Return Index has once again closed in the red. The index closed at 7,600.667 basis points, thus resulting to a 0.418% loss. In total, there were only five traded equities through which only HSBC Bank Malta plc equity price closed 0.6% higher than yesterday’s closing price – €0.835, and was the most traded with a mere three transactions. A total turnover of €14,604 was recorded amongst eight deals.
A single trade in Bank of Valletta plc and PG plc retracted the share price by 2.15% and 1.05% respectively – closing the session at €0.91 and €1.88.
Similarly, GO plc shares also declined through a single transaction. The equity price went down by 0.6% to end the session at €3.34.
A couple of trades in Malta International Airport plc reduced the share price by 0.41%. In total there were a mere 28 shares exchanged hands leading to the price level of €4.82.
In the Corporate Debt market, out of 12 active issues, three registered gains while four closed in the red. The 4% Merkanti Holding plc Secured € 2026 headed the list of gainers with a 1.95% movement in price, to close at €101.95. On the other hand, both 4% Eden Finance plc Unsecured € 2027 and 4% International Hotel Investments plc Secured € 2026 bonds closed 0.99% lower to close at par value.
In the Sovereign Bond market, 12 issues were active, of which bonds traded higher and lower tallied to five a piece while the rest traded unchanged. The 4.3% MGS 2033 (I) closed 1.77% higher at €145.68. The 5.25% MGS 2030 (I) declined by 1.33%, reaching the €148.00 price level.
There was only one active issue in the Prospects MTF market. The 5.75% Pharmacare Finance plc Unsecured EUR Bonds 2025-2028 closed 0.74% lower at €100.00 spread across three trades.
