Three large caps drag MSE Index lower

The MSE Equity Total Return Index did not manage to sustain yesterday’s positive performance as it closed 0.039% lower at 9,404.189 points. A total of 10 equities were active, of which gainers and losers tallied to three a-piece. Total turnover amounted to €457,520, which was generated over 43 deals.
In the banking industry, Bank of Valletta plc lost ground as four deals involving 9,000 shares were executed. The bank closed 0.95% lower at €1.04 and registered a total turnover of €9,360.
On the other hand, FIMBank plc registered the best performance as it was up by 6.42%, ending the session at $0.58. This was the outcome of two deals with a spread of 23,574 shares.
Meanwhile, HSBC Bank Malta plc registered the highest liquidity as a total turnover of €276,947 was recorded. A total of 263,118 shares changed ownership over 16 transactions.
Telecommunications company, GO plc, declined by 0.47%, as six deals involving 18,366 shares were executed. The equity generated a total turnover of €78,299 and ended the session at €4.26. Conversely, five deals involving 53,000 BMIT Technologies plc shares pushed the price 0.92% higher, reaching the €0.55 price level. Total turnover amounted to €28,975.
Malta International Airport plc lost 2.21% as 2,450 shares changed hands over three deals. A total turnover of €16,305 was recorded while price declined to €6.65.
A sole deal of 2,000 MaltaPost plc shares resulted into a 1.56% increase, as it closed at €1.30. Total turnover stood at €2,600.
RS2 Software plc was active over four deals involving 11,650 shares, which left no impact on the equity’s previous closing price of €2.54. The equity generated a total turnover of €29,026.
Elsewhere, International Hotel Investments plc and Malita Investments plc both traded flat at €0.74 and €0.89, respectively.
In the Sovereign Debt market, out of 15 active issues one traded lower while the rest advanced as yields declined. The 2.4% MGS 2041 (I) increased by 1.29% as it closed at €133.91. Conversely, the 5% MGS 2021(I) closed 0.01% lower at €107.58.
In the Corporate Debt market, 11 issues were active, of which three headed north while another one closed in the opposite direction. The 5.1% 1923 Investments plc Unsecured € 2024 headed the list of gainers as it closed 0.49% higher at €102.00. On the other hand, the 5.9% Together Gaming Solutions plc Unsec Call Bds €2024-2026 lost 0.05%, ending the session at €100.90.
In the Prospects MTF market, the 5% FES Finance plc Secured € 2029 and the 5% Busy Bee Finance Company plc Unsecured € 2029 were both active but closed unchanged at €101.00 and €104.00, respectively.
