MaltaPost plc – Issue of MaltaPost licence

MaltaPost p.l.c. announced that in line with the decision of the 1 November 2012 entitled "Regulating the Postal Sector in a fully liberalized market – an authorization regime for a fully liberalized market – response to consultation document and next steps", the Malta Communications Authority in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Postal Services Act (Cap 254 of the Laws of Malta) granted a new licence to MaltaPost p.l.c. for the provision of Postal Services within the scope of the Universal Services. The new licence is effective as from the 1 May 2013 for an indefinite period subsequent to the termination of the license as provided for under the provisions of MaltaPost P.L.C. Licence Regulations (SL254.14 of the Laws of Malta).
